Resident - Nancy Elden

Nancy and Teddy were residents at The Lodge That Gives. When Nancy was diagnosed with cancer and found out she would have to travel to Halifax for treatment, she knew travel and accommodation expenses would be an issue. She and her service dog, Teddy, decided to stay at the Lodge.

“I think it made a big difference to my husband because he was nervous about just leaving me. But after he met the staff and saw how nice it was, it put his mind at rest,” says Nancy. “There's always someone here to talk to whether it's during the day or in the middle of the night. There is somebody to have a cup of tea and just sit and be with."

"The fact that it seemed that they were happy with everything that was going on; I just though, WOW! If they can feel like that from just going for

"How do I describe The Lodge? It's like a home away from home. I've heard so many good things. The patients can really talk to each other."

"We've become a group of friends. That's what this Lodge is all about. You come here because of a sad issue but you become friends along the way.
